Going the distance

Rocky never thought he would win - in fact, he realized that his fight was just for show. But it meant something to him "to go the distance." Yeah, Rocky liked a good fight too. Fighting the good fight is a metaphor of our life in Christ - as we are reminded in Chariots of Fire, it's not that we fight or run - but that we finish. We like to talk about "oneness" but not about the fight, the race, the faith. Do we not want to be as Paul said, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. " II Timothy 4:7.
