SORRY ABOUT THE STRAIN AMENDMENT PASSES - DOES NOT RESPECT AND HONOR THE WINDSOR REPORT

The Amendment is now up for a vote. They are going to vote electronically on the "Jennings Amendment" on being "sorry about the strain." I'll call this the "Oops Amendment."

There has been a motion to extend by 30 minutes the debate on the main motion. The deputy "senses that the House might not like that," and decided to change the debate by 15 mintues.

I'm confused - How could it pass with more "no" votes than "yes" votes?

BTW, thanks for picking up for Matt+ and Stand Firm (crash, crash).

as we seek to live into deeper levels of communion one with another....

this language still represents one of "we will do it differently"

A few days ago I mentioned on Kendall's site or Brad's site that the resolution from the SpeComm was better than expected because it included an implicit recognition that there were constraints placed on us by virtue of the bonds of affection and that the liberals really really really must hate that language. Looks like I was right. Gone are the constraints and in are the strains. Oh bother.
