The Bishop of Virginia votes "no" on Bishop-elect Forrester of the Diocese of Northern Michigan

The Bishop of Virginia (Peter James Lee) has withheld consent to the election of the Rev. Kevin G. Thew Forrester as bishop-elect of Northern Michigan, a Virginia diocesan official confirms.

From here. Tip of the Tinfoil to Sir Gawain.

Now maybe the Bishop of Virginia can phone the Bishop of SW.VA. and explain to him why. Apparently Neff Powell has never seen a liberal that he doesn't endorse as an automatic reaction.
What an embarrassment to us who have to live with him for several more years. One lay person who voted for Powell at election now says that he isn't anything like he got himself elected to be and that she's sorry to have voted for him. So am I.

Well, shut my mouth!

So there is indeed a level of weird Peter Lee won't countenance. Better let the good folks at Grace Cathedral know. They may want to reconsider bringing him on. He may not be a fit in the land of the looney after all.

After the Robinson vote in 2003, Mr. Lee indicated that he had never withheld consent to any bishop-elect. So this is a first!
