The Pope Speaks to the American People

Well, it's clear to me why so many Episcopalians are heading to Rome these days after listening to the Pope's recent message as he prepares to be here in DC next week. If only we could hear such a strong and unambiguous and personal message from the leadership of the Episcopal Church and the Archbishop of Canterbury. Jesus Christ is our hope. Amen.

This is posted especially for Marcia, Margie, and Paul. Thanks, Kendall.

BB, I humbly submit that we hear this every time Katharine Jefferts Schori speaks.

"and the Archbishop of Canterbury"

I also submit that we receive a clear message expressing Rowan Williams' contempt for biblically faithful Anglican Christians every time he takes an action or announces a decision.

In for a penny, in for a pound. I was raised a Romanist, but by the grace of God I was freed from that a long time ago. If you want the strongest and most unambiguous message read the Bible!

Chazaq - You are right on! I'd only add to it that RW shows contempt for ***CHRIST*** and Biblically faithful Anglican ***Christianity*** as well as those who are faithful followers of Christ.

All RW says, writes and does denies and distorts the truth (Romans 1), denies the power of God to save, heal and deliver men and women from all sin (Hebrews 7:25).

In claiming GLBT, etc. are a separate 'folk' with unique identities and orientations, he denies true Scriptural inclusiveness described in 1 Cor 6:9-20.

He, in his relations to muslims and the recent sharia law statements, shows a lack of love for Christ, respect for women and children, for ministers of the Gospel who are being brutalized and tormented by muslims all over the world.

Sad to say, RW has proven to be an enemy of Christ, a facilitator and promulgator of evil and a destroyer of the Church.

The only good he has done is become an illustration of bad and wrong church leadership and practice of Christianity.
