David Roseberry of Christ Church Plano and Martyn Minns of Truro Church Fairfax Prepare for Special Committee Hearing this Morning

Both David and Martyn were well-prepared to speak in favor of the biblical foundations of our Christian faith. Together they represent congregations of thousands of Episcopalians who are deeply concerned with the direction the Episcopal Church continues to make. Will there be a course change? If the church is headed for an iceberg, no course change means we hit the iceberg. Is there clarity on these issues? David, Martyn, and many many others are working hard to clarify where the Episcopal Church stands in relation to the rest of the Anglican Communion. Is the "listening process" only one-sided - or will there be a change? "We tried to find clarity," Ian Douglas of Episcopal Theological Seminary said to the Special Committee, "while living in ambiguity."

We find our comfort that while we may see through a glass darkly, we know someone who sees quite clearly. Through scripture and prayer we can find the good news of Jesus Christ and trust Him with our lives. It is not for us to "live in ambiguity," but to follow Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. In Christ there is clarity. The question before us, though, is "Do we want to see clearly and if we do, are we prepared for action?"
