Perhaps recalling his rather unforgettable experience in Newark and bored with his latest book tour, imagine Bishop Spong contemplating that delightful city called Fresno.

Why Baby Blue . . . Bishop Spong could do for the Diocese of San Joaquin what he did for the Diocese of Newark!
The next (perhaps interim) bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin, I predict, will be a familiar face and name --the Rt Rev. Bavi 'Nedi' Rivera, currently Bishop Suffragan of Olympia and daughter of the late Bishop Victor M. Rivera, third bishop of San Joaquin.
Expect to see her in Fresno the day after the canonically-mandated 60 days TEC is forestalling deposition of Bishop Schofield.
One thing is for certain, when BB trots out fallback topics Spong and Dylan on the same day -- both 60s throwbacks, by the way -- something is amiss in con-anglican blogland.
Your boy overplayed his hand in Atwater. The tide is turning. About time to hop in the GAFCON lifeboat and pray it's not full of holes.
Not that John Shelby Spong is worth the bytes used to spell his name, but I happened across an interesting debate from Alpha and Omega Ministries, between Dr. James White and the former bishop of Newark on the subject of homosexuality. White who is a Baptist of some sort trounced Spong and when he brought up the name of Bishop J. C. Ryle, Spong had absolutely no idea who that was.
Somehow it's encouraging - even the liberals get red faced and quickly try to dissociate themselves from the Spongster, who is actually a 19th century throwback.

Looks like it time to go back and click play.

Dylan - a 60s throwback?
1662 bcp, SF actually covered that.
