Sunday Afternoon with Bob
Where black is the color, where none is the number,
And I'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it,
And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it,
Then I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin',
But I'll know my song well before I start singin',
And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard,
It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall.
B. Dylan (Performance March 2007)
And with a big time tip of the TinFoil to RWB, here's "I Believe in You" from last week (Aug. 19th) on the road in Melbourne, Australia. When asked what he believes in these days, Dylan constantly responds that it's in his songs. If we want to know what he believes, it's in the songs. Great to hear him still singing this one. Thanks, RWB.
Don't let me drift too far,
Keep me where you are
Where I will always be renewed.
And that which you've given me today
Is worth more than I could pay
And no matter what they say
I believe in you.
I believe in you when winter turn to summer,
I believe in you when white turn to black,
I believe in you even though I be outnumbered.
Oh, though the earth may shake me
Oh, though my friends forsake me
Oh, even that couldn't make me go back.
Don't let me change my heart,
Keep me set apart
From all the plans they do pursue.
And I, I don't mind the pain
Don't mind the driving rain
I know I will sustain
'Cause I believe in you.
B. Dylan
