Suffragan Bishop David Jones to act as "consultant" to Pittsburgh shadow diocese

David Jones, the Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Virginia, will be a consultant to the shadow diocese in Pittsburgh, now being set up by Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and Progressive Episcopalians and the lone dissenter of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Standing Committee in anticipation for impending lawsuit filings. Why he would want to dive into that mess after a less than stellar performance in Virginia is beyond us.

Maybe this is his cookie for his "yes" vote.

Bishop David Jones voted yes on the following:
In support of Bishop Walter Righter (1995)
To force women's ordination in every diocese (1997)
To include in the Book of Occasional Services a rite for blessing homosexual unions (2000)
To consider blessing committed same-gender relationships (2003)
hmmm.... intriguing days ahead.

Maybe the TEC remainder of DioPgh will pay for +Jones services. This would help DioVA cover a fraction of their $$ losses they continue to suffer in court...

Hopefully, Bishop Jones will have every bit as much success persecuting the faithful of Pittsburgh as he has managed in Virginia. It would be really neat if God's plan is to lure these mini-Pharaoh's into the ignominious defeat they so richly deserve.

That's a fascinating comment, Kevin. Indeed, Bishop Jones (who was once thought to be evangelical, but that was before the dark times, before the empire) was the only one of the three bishops in the Diocese of Virginia to vote in favor of deposing Bishop Duncan. Guess he's getting rewarded. The sadness of it all.
