Anglican TV: Interview with Bishop Bob Duncan

Anglican TV's Kevin Kallsen interviews the Rt. Rev'd Bob Duncan, Bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburg and Moderator of the Anglican Communion Network.

"The instruments of Communion are in question at this point. Is the ABC as an office, if he doesn't lead in this crisis, if we simply try to continue to keep everybody at the table, what will the future of that office be?" asks Bishop Duncan.

"The Diocese of Pittsburgh, with conversations all through the summer which lead us to believe that the only way for us to go forward, being who we are, standing where we've always stood is to stand with a another province, to break our connection to this province and to realign with another province," said Bishop Duncan.

"It's time for an ecclesiastical time out," Bishop Duncan said.

The RMS Titanic and lifeboats is a fair metaphor, but deficient for one reason. Nobody was shelling the lifeboats as they tried to get away. I prefer the Dunkirk comparison for this reason.

I don't like either. It implies retreat and bobbing up & down in the ocean.

Granted, throughout Scripture we have many examples of the Children of God thinking this way and usually the LORD coming in, a tad annoyed, asking why they're thinking so defensively.
