Mary,
Have you been over to Cafe Du Monde, which is at 1039 Decatur St., for beignets and real New Orleans coffee with chicory? If you have time it is well worth it and they are open quite late.

I hope the areas of Mississippi, etc. that suffered look as good as this, post-Katrina!

Art+, that's the Saint Louis Cathedral. Many people first saw it when the President visited N.O. just after Katrina, and it was beautifully lighted in the background.

Remember, y'all, the French Quarter didn't get the flooding from the levee breaks that devastated so many neighborhoods.

I'm shocked like you, Mary. I've been in N.O. many times (pre-Katrina) and have never seen it look so desolate -- and on a Saturday, too! Very sad.

Is this an allegory or what??

I find it interesting that so many Anglican blogs are using images of a Roman Catholic cathedral in the coverage of the HOB conference.
