The Archbishop of Canterbury reflects on Lent

Once again, we meet Rowan Williams in a relaxed atmosphere, as though we've just been invited in for tea as he explains to us from the edge of his chair (as though ready to jump and get more scones) the meaning of the liturgical season of Lent. "What motivates us and what fills the horizon," says Dr. Williams, "is ... trying to sweep and clean the room of our own minds and hearts so that the new life really may have room to come in and take over and transform us at Easter."

I never get the impression that RW is convinced of anything.
