Inked as they are with the opposition to the tyranny of the Adversary and corrupt political systems, I find this Virginian blow for true freedom entirely consistent with the Gospel and American History. May the Revolution usher in the Kingdom of Our Only Lord and Saviour, Jesus!

Okay Inked - funny I wonder what political system would true freedom for you? Did you observe any of it?

I did, BTW, I am trained as a Poll Worker and serve as Asst. Precinct Chief, I did not observe anything remote to your claim. Very odd, do you have any credentials or observable fact to make such a claim or are you taking you first amendment to level a charge, albeit pretty sounding, but still a charge that I'm not sure you backed up. Would that make it a false witness?

Oh dear, that could add a little trouble for you conclusion, which I must admit I FULLY concur, Maranatha!

Kevin, Kevin, Kevin,
You would probably have dissed the Boston Tea Party, too, huh?
I seem to recall something nearly sacred about one vote, one person, one outcome being touted as the sine qua non of all things political during my 11.5 years in Virgina. Seems to be active. As to the perfect political system, I adhere to the Divine Monarchy in Trinity, to which all shall be subject and every knee shall bow and every tongue confess "Kyrios". But until then, we're doing the best we can under this democracy at work in these churches. But perhaps I miss your point altogether or you mine!

RE:"But perhaps I miss your point altogether or you mine!

Probably the latter. Rereading I believe you're maybe meaning "Sic Semper Tyranus." I must confess that's not the mood at TFC. The largest rebutial to +Lee's concern, "keep the spiritual needs of all concerned uppermost in their minds at this difficult moment in our Church history," is probably Rev. John Yates himself.

The vote was announced very differently that what the clip I saw of Truro's was given. Ours was somber then into prayer. It in no way was a victory, rather a quite resolve to move forward in sadness.

Yes, there is freedom when one divorces a habitual adulterer, but also shattered dreams of the happieness of the wedding day, the lost hopes the counseling failed, so this is it. A new day, but one you never had asked & dared to dream would not be necessarily. It is more like looking to Jesus to redeem the times than some great triumphant march.

So I probably took your post in another light. Yes we were decisive, I'm glad that so many voted last Sunday to withstand a challenge. Clarity for TFC, but regret this day had to come.

After Rev. John Yates announced the vote in 11AM Historic he prayed:

The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Easy Printing Version
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
