Closer to Home: Urgent Prayer Request

For those of us who are regular patrons here at the Cafe, we all know Kevin and his great and consistent posts. Could you just stop right now and pray for him and his family? The Lord knows what's before Him and if you could just pray for Kevin and his family right now, right where you are, that would be so good. Feel free to post prayers on his behalf or scriptures or anything that comes to mind. The Lord knows the need and I just ask Him to pour out His love and care abundantly. Once I find out if it's okay to post the specific prayer request here, I will, or Kevin may drop by. But in the meantime, please pray for our brother Kevin.

"Lo, I will be with you always, even to the ends of the world."
Matthew 28:20

"Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee: yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
(Isaiah 40:10)

No man know the day or hour the Son of Man comes.

My father who should be dead is alive and my sister who should be alive is dead.

Now one is missing.

(Bless you BB & those who have prayed)

An Orthodox Prayer

Into Thy hands, O Lord, I commend the soul of thy servant, Laurie, and beseech Thee to grand her rest in the place of thy rest, where all thy blessed Saints repose, and where the light of thy countenance shineth forever. And I beseech Thee also to grant that our present lives may be godly, sober, and blameless, that we too may be made worthy to enter into thy heavenly Kingodm with those we love but see no longer; for Thou are the Resurrection, and the Life, and the Repose of thy departed servants, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen

Having lost my brother (who was born the same year as your sister) I know the sense of loss you now feel. Praying you will be comforted.
Your sister in Christ,
Anam Cara

Keven, we hardly agree on anything ecclesiastical, but I know in my heart that we agree on one thing: That God is merciful and loving.

O God, to whom we turn for comfort: Embrace Kevin and his family with your love as they mourn. Comfort them with the promise of your kingdom as you welcome Laurie to your banquet. We put our trust in you, O Lord, our host and our creator. Amen.

My heart goes out to you.

Padre Wayne

Kevin,

As we say in my faith may your sister's memory be for a blessing.

MOURNER'S KADDISH
An English Translation

Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

With my deepest sympathy,

Melanie
