What's "biased, slanted, revisionist" about the article? It seems pretty straightforward to me, and how about offering a prayer for those who have chosen to remain in TEC?

So much for the protocol developed by Bishop Lee's Special Committee and written by the Diocese of Virginia's Chancellor (or is that Major Tom?) and confirmed by the Executive Board and the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Virginia per Bishop Lee's request. I don't see it mentioned in this thing anywhere. Do you? I also don't see anyone quoted from St. Stephen's anywhere in the article - including the Rector. What's up with that?

Now we know what the folks over at the North Korean News Service do on their days off (when not foraging for food, that is).

When the Anglicans left St. Stephen's, they ceased to be Episcopal. The only listening faithful Episcopalians have to give to the schismatics is to hear their confessions before allowing them to be received back into the Anglican Communion.

I'll wager that the 40 on the rolls have been there since the founding of the parish and had to be resurrected for the occasion. Why was that left out of the coverage, I wonder? And I do trust that anonymous realises when the same is said by the Anglican Communion to ECUSA/TEC the logic remains available.

It is very odd that 815/ENS mentions a press release sent directly to them (which also quotes Bishop Lee) but there is no press release on the Diocesan website nor has it been sent to the press release list (at least yet). So this so-called "press release" was sent directly to 815 which is doing the publicity, instead of the Diocese (at least so far). St. Stephen's has been following the Diocese of Virginia's protocol (which I will again state emphatically, was endorsed by Bishop Lee, written by his chancellor, and through the bishop's own lobbying efforts accepted by both the Standing Committee and the Executive Board without change). Here at St. Stephen's it appears that either the diocese is undermining its own protocol (which is shocking in its duplicity), or it allowing 815 to do the dirty work for them, or they have lost control of the diocese and 815 is running the show. But though St. Stephen's is a small parish - it is historically signficant, led for the last five years by a rector who has grown the parish far beyond what it was when he arrived (and of course not mentioned in this article at all - no quote from him or the senior warden, also very odd), and we should watch this very carefully.

Well, it's a good way to pass the ball back and forth to confuse issue. 815 wants ++KSJ to be invited to Tanzania, so let it come from DioVA. However DioVA said that there would be a 30 day cooling off period. So let 815 release it.

My guess it that it's a stalling maneuver, like +Lee did with the Protocl. DioVA Convention coming up, w/o TFC & Truro vioces, the more liberal side can network & politic more less restrain to silence the right of center (the new right side anchor) and make action appear to be a mandate. There only trouble is that the 30 days expires before the convention not after, so a little blur here and a little delay there can get them to where they recieve the mandate.

Arm Chair Lawyer: There needs to be a discontented remnant. Harder to find in NoVA, mainly because of oppertunities to leave for another church, so Truro discontented have disburse. It was probably easier in a smaller twon. They only need one case to test the § 57-9 statute. It would be foolish in my unprofessional opinion to take on everyone. They might take action against another as a "trouble-makeer" ('these nice people would not have voted to leave except these 40 Days people incited them).' 815 & DioVA only need precedence to begin traking action against others, taking on the united front would be foolish, Napoleon divided and conquered in series of battles (taken down less Wellington as by Blucher, who when beaten didn't retire but also engaged with Wellington [thus undid the D&C strategy]).

Whatever it's worth that's my take on this strange handling of St. Stephen's & 815/ENS.
