Heading West ...

7:48 AM UPDATE: Here at Reagan National Airport in DC on a sleepy July 4th morning. I'm flying Alaska Airlines - didn't even know there was an Alaska Airlines.Imagine if every state in the nation had an airlines, but then would people fly them? New Jersey Air? How about Wisconsin Airlines? Well, of course, there is Hawaiian Airlines. It comes in handy since it's the way to get about all the islands in the chain. But here we are on Alaska Airlines the day after the governor says she's moving on. Guess I can't call it Palin Air anymore. Wonder what she's up to?

There's something sort of surreal about sitting here in a coffee shop at Reagan Airport outside the nation's capital and waiting for a plane to Anaheim while listening to the music over the louder speakers in the terminal blast The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again.

7:13 p.m. on the Pacific Coast: Arrived in LA and drove straight to the hotel and walked into the Daughters of the King Triennial underway (see updated report in post below). It was another tough day, but not as tough as yesterday. The good news is that everyone remained in the room and it looks like everyone - Episcopalians, Anglicans, Roman Catholics, and Lutherans - will come together at the official banquet tonight.

Apparently the room where I am writing this will have a view of the 4th of July fireworks tonight over Disneyland. That's a bit of a change from the annual view of the fireworks down on the Washington Mall, though I do realize that there are many pundits who see no difference.

We are having a beautiful day in SoCal. Shorts weather @ 7:00 am but won't get too hot, maybe 75.

What in the world are you doing in Anaheim? Anyway, if you are in SoCal on Sunday please visit Blessed Sacrament in Placentia. Talk to the pastor, David Baumann; it will be worth your while.

BTW, you have at least one fan out here in LA. (I know better than leave my name here for all TEC to see.) I hope to run into you at the convention. God bless you.

For a moment I thought it read: U2 - Magnificat. Time for a fresh eye exam.

Actually, Bono has recently said that the song is inspired by the Magnificat. ;-)

BB,
Are you coming straight back to DC or are you going to attend the General Convention?

I am still trying to work out if those are real sheets or computer graphics. Amazing whatever they are.

Post pics of fireworks please. I love fireworks.

I mean the pyrotechnics, not the kind that happen at conferences....

Cooler heads did prevail, however th battle has only been stayed for 3 more years. DOK is on a respirator for the time but those who have tried this scheme for the past two Triennial are not done trying and will not give up....Prayer for the Order is deeply needed.

The really good news is that an awesome new council has been elected with a great new president. Please do remember them all in your prayers. Indeed, to God be the glory.
