Tuesday Night at the Cafe: A Poem

Blacksburg's not so bleak in May,
though many say the winter lingers into June.
This year the dogwood and the lilacs bloom,
covering neglected meadows like reconciling tears;
songs of praise and sunlight fill the fields,
horses dance in a rain of blossoms as we break bread
and Mozart's Requiem echos through the trees.

RE: "all of the bad news of late.

Remember Anon, the meaning of Easter, all bad news truly is merely temporal -- He is RISEN!

...and I remember, as we woke in the morning covered in scattered hay from the loft, our little troupe carrying our Bibles down the pasture path to the rainforest. Bill with his new guitar and blankets being nibbled by the horses as they came to enjoy the worship in God's cathedral that day. Been a LÖNG time since I heard that poem, bb...thanks for the memory...17 years ago...boy, I feel old! = )

Happy Birthday, Cheryl. Remember, as Bob says, we were so much older then, we're younger than that now.

This poem was written on the occasion of Cheryl's husband's birthday. God bless you both and all those answers to prayer that now live in your house. ;-)
