This is one of my favorite movies. I think after work I'll pull out my DVD and watch the whole thing.
One thing our family does for 4th of July is to read the Declaration of Independence. No matter where we are, we pass around a copy and every one who can read takes a turn at reading at least a sentence until it is all done. It has almost become a type of game to try and guess how many sentences to read to make certain it gets all the way around while getting to read "pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
We have done this 12 times in foreign countries (once on a ship in the middle of the North Sea!), in the USA with friends, once with a group of just graduated high school students (who thought it was great and told me that they wished their families had a similar tradition.)
It is the easiest of all our family traditions to keep as it does not depend on certain foods which we may not be able to prepare if not home - no matter where we are, we can read!
