Rowan Williams interviewed by Richard Dawkins

Richard Dawkins interviews the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams - a fascinating interview on creation, miracles (yes, Rowan believes in the miracles!), the New Testament texts, and faith.  A must watch!

sigh...I'm still waiting for a successful interview with Dawkins. It just seems that when everything appears to be going well, it just blows up at the end.

I fear the ABC may have blown is up by suggesting that poetic language is a way to "wriggle out of hard questions." You don't think Dawkins was already thinking that when you said it?

I thought the Archbishop did a splendid job of coping with Dawkins. I was very impressed.

I don't think we disagree on very much, BB

Was Rowan backing away from the idea of the virgin birth as a fact?

Sorry to have missed all these responses. It's been a while since I've been back in the blogosphere.

I do agree with you BB and Scout, sort of.

I am not doubting that he did a good job of handling him. I got to witness first hand a Christian scholar being eaten alive by Dawkins in a debate in Stuttgart Germany just last year. So in that way, I think the ABC did well.

I just don't think he did a very good job of really digging in deep. And the comment on poetic language is just giving Dawkins a perfect opportunity to affirm what he already thought...that it's just a poetic jumble of gook that has no credibility.

I guess what I am trying to say is that this 25 year old wants to see ol' Dawking squirm. He seems too confident that he is 100% right. I like him because I think he's quite kind about it, but I just want to see the man changed.

Ok, I'm going to go catch my breath now. :)
