@David G.
Perhaps you would like to read the following:

Proverbs 16:31 NIV
Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life.

Proverbs 20:29 NIV
The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old.

Job 32:7 NIV
...'Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.'

I think they have lived through many things. I have always found the advise/opinions of the elderly to be quite helpful (even if in the end I decided to take a different course - at least I was informed!

Proverbs 11:14 NIV
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.)

If, indeed, you find them a waste of time and irrelevant, I suggest that you look elsewhere. But whatever you do, bear in mind what the disciples said, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

Not a Global South swipe, but bishops in general. Since obviously they can colour-co-ordinate their rochets, what's the problem with cassocks?

Hey, check out David G's blog and just feel the love . . . .

Ah David,

Your absolute prejudice is revealing. That youth is "all that" and that the wisdom, mistakes, and successes of the elders can't teach you anything.

BTW: Did Jesus ever back up your view? Don't think so. He appreciated the wisdom of elders, having first sat among them in his youth at the Temple. He sought out the likes of old Nichodemus.

You're speaking nothing but pure current culture bigotry and not anything akin to Christianity....which is why these men and women are meeting. It's because this Church has been living too much in the world...and it shows.

Oh Steven,

I just DID check out his blog.

What. A. Disgrace.

The Lord is disgraced by this venomous potty mouth. I highly recommend anger therapy. With this kind of outlook and demeanor I don't think that David the blogger can pass a reference check to be the paid janitor or the volunteer nursery attendant of most self-respecting churches. But, in the world of blogdom he's a god. If David the person is different than David the blogger there may be a chance.

Go figure.

Folks,

We should not let one who seems very troubled inside as to lash out as such or boil life sown such few items distract us from such wondrous gathering. Even if not quite color coordinating :-)

(Prayers for inner-healing and Lord's peace that passes understanding)

The observations of others show that the Global South is more diverse in age and race, and several of the bishops have or are about to be retired. This makes room for younger leaders. No one who is young and without experience should be a bishop.

We pray that God instills Godly leaders willing to listen to Him first and always.

Does anyone know the break-down of the attended Provinces/groups in terms of how many are Anglo-Catholic or ordain women?

It has been pointed out to me - charitably by email - that I said "colour-co-ordinate their rochets" when I ought to have said "colour-co-ordinate their chimeres". Very true. I know better & should not have made the mistake. Colour-co-rdination of cassocks would still be a good idea.
