Episcopalians from the Diocese of Virginia are at the worship too!

Yes, there's a whole crowd of Episcopalians from the Diocese of Virginia here, joining in the worship and filled with the friendship of Christ our Lord. Greeted them with joy as I returned from the Eucharist. It is a new day!

Baby Blue:

Many, many thanks for all of this! It made my day, and I do wish I could have been there.

Thank you again.

Congratulations to all of you becoming Baptist-Congregationalists.

Peace of Christ.

Nope, doesn't work for me, sorry Mike.

Many of the CANA folks were not episcopalian to begin with. Observations of the Falls Church, 30 yrs ago, revealed that the arrival of Yates upset many people who left the church to go elsewhere. He invited lots of evangelicals to come to the Falls Church....
Was this a stealth hijaking of the episcopalian church and its historical buildings?

Most at the Falls Church now have only been there a few years. The article in the Post seemed to draw out that Truro and Falls Church pride themselves at not very Episcopalian. No wonder why the vote went the way it did.

Well, BabyBlue has been an Episcopalian (and is still an Episcopalian by the way - at least for the moment) for twenty-one years. She has been a member of Episcopal Churches for twenty-eight years. K?

Not K, but I'll chime in.

Anons are correct about TFC, on both accounts. Somewhat true at Truro, but Truro has a less transient congregation with a more core group who have been there like BB. TFC Episcopal (now meeting across the street) are mostly cradle Episcopalians TFC CANA is mostly not and been there for a short time.

I know all four CANA ordinations were not cradle Episcopalians, at least three if not all were PCA. Which is odd for theologically very close to Evangelical Anglicanism, but ecclesiastically night&day.

Though that holds a clue to what the Anon's are taking about. The first Anon knows his history, but the big change when Yates+ came I believe Pew was more Anglo-Catholic. This may be a commentary on CANA being much more Evangelical in nature.

The K? could be a typo - but I don't think so and it bothers me a bit. Granted Anons know something about TFC and expressing an anger/hurt emotion, which could describe me.

I'm not surprised TFC people not for CANA may be expressing hostility. John doing a six week sermon series "God is doing a new thing" (boy that sounds familiar) as he trying to increase the budget to $6M. If this is anything like South Gate is part of the Gospel, I understand the hostility. An obfuscation of the Gospel with a call for increased giving.

My take, well, if ++Akinola is serious about discipline for TEC, he should first begin in his own house, at least in CANA, then he'd have Biblical rights to ask for TEC.

I thought +Minns sermon was nice, but I did see that transformation in Truro. I found Truro to be very political where good looks and butt kissing proved more valuable than substance. TFC seemed more prideful having the Attorney General and congressmen there. I left with doubting God's goodness and angry, I was not angry before I joined. I feel that some are charlatans of the Gospel, ten with the Ted Hagard scandal, I wonder if this is not a major issue in American Evangelicalism -- good words, life not matching up, but we like pretty faces.

I'm more at peace learning about theological conservative and social conservatives in the Church. Oh Well.

May the Lord be as attentive tor Truro & TFC's prayers as they have been to my emails. May the LORD hear Truro & TFC's cries for help as they have mine. May He who truly knows all and judges fairly give the same measure of justice and mercy in these law suites and other ills as they have shown me. May the Lord bring His refinement and discipline to each and all of us that we may be transformed and conformed into the likeness of Jesus, His Son our Master and Savior.

oops, that was supposed to be "OK?" What a little O can do! ;-)

That's a beautiful prayer, Kevin - I've been thinking a lot about God's amazing grace.

If you as leader at the time on vestry, really think so, then let it be done!

Remember though, it is a release to the Lord of all the hurt CANA has done in their disobedience of the Scripture, the pushing me out, the abuses and the bullying with a deaf ear to my cries. If you think it beautiful, please Lord let it be done.
