"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
-Hebrews 12:1-3

That same year ('04) that JAF FR used Heb. 12:1-2 were the theme verse we had Mike King came to work with the youth.

There were some very lonely moments between Fairbanks and DC, some real joys as well, but he did the course with all the hills and valleys, he help a future wheelchair racer get his start and a hero to several small towns on the way, but mostly he gave his time to encourage those who are in their own race.Giving able body and disabled a pointer to verse 3!

Let us throw off the sin that so easily ensnares and show our stuff to this great cloud of witnesses, saints militant & triumphant.
