Bob Dylan live at the White House

Okay, there are others there as well. But due to the impending snow storm, the big performance at the White House has been moved tonight. Enjoy!

General Synod and Bob Dylan, all in one day! A BabyBlueOnline.org extravaganza!

The White House reports that "This concert which will feature songs from the Civil Rights Movement as well as readings from famous Civil Rights speeches and writings. Participants will include Yolanda Adams, Natalie Cole, Bob Dylan, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, John Mellencamp, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, Smokey Robinson, Seal, the Blind Boys of Alabama and the Howard University Choir. Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Queen Latifah and Joanne Woodward will be guest speakers." Doesn't mention Joanie - what's up with that?

LATER: One song, Times the are a Changin' - even he seemed surprised that he was only doing one song. He sang it almost as lament, very simple, on the guitar with a bass and a piano as accompaniment. It's the first time I've seen him hatless on stage.

My favorite acts (after Dylan) were The Blind Boys of Alabama and The Freedom Singers - they were by far the best of the night - and I think even Dylan would agree with that.
