Have some time on your hands today? Write a Fugue!

Anglicans love Fugues, especially in D Minor. Might come in handy in the months ahead. Here's Lesson #1. Tip of the Tinfoil to JCW.

  1. One of the funniest things I've ever seen! I'm such a Baroque junkie - this was ingenious.
A few minor points to keep in mind:
    * Britney Spears is an anagram for Presbyterians.
    * Bach and Handel were Lutherans. Handel moved to England but never officially 'crossed the Thames'.

  2. Some of the best parts of Handel's Messiah are fugues: by his stripes we are healed, he trusted in God that he would deliver him, the fugue from the overture.

  3. Way too funny!!!!!!

I actually like this version of Spears!

Always loved Bach, one of the things I miss hanging around Evangelicals is the over-use of the organ, St. A's had an excellent music director who gave a short concert frequently after the service (it didn't hurt that the organ was oversized for the building).

(Though more than Anglicans love classical styles and four-part harmonies {notably absent in the '82 hymnal} -- if you wondered into the HBW cafeteria you might see a group of punks with wild hair playing bridge and Mozart or Bach on the boombox).

  5. That Al is one Weird guy. ;-)

Love the "Allen Ginsberg" and "Bob Neuwirth" lookalikes in the background.
