There is no equivalence between a fight over a piece of property, and that's all it is, and the real persecution that people face everyday all over the world. Imagine the good that could be done if the same effort that is going into this fight were used to address Darfur or the rise of anti-semitism in Europe or the treatment of Palestinian Christians in Gaza and the West Bank?

MelanieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-15285256847844017192007-05-22T07:10:00.000-04:002007-05-22T07:10:00.000-04:00Very good, Alice, So your point is?Who is the LRA?...Very good, Alice, So your point is?

Who is the LRA? What is the nation generally recognized with the worst record on religious persecution? What was the last thing you did to truly support our truly persecuted brother and sisters?

I bet all law suites would stop if CANA left the building, thus proving not a ideological fight but a property issue! Two groups once together now claim the same piece of real estate.

The victim claim here is very poor indeed. I'm especially appalled since I am befuddled at the point of this op-ed, if attempt to sway the court proceedings, a very poor form and may earn a spanking from the judge and a gag order. Pointless obfuscation on a VERY serious matter that happen to be going on today. As one friend and member of my parish is head to the frontier province of Pakistan, Jim use and Alice's attempt to support seem at best juvenile.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00261766465382455822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-3701809092074020462007-05-22T00:19:00.000-04:002007-05-22T00:19:00.000-04:00"But when in the course of Divine Providence, thes..."But when in the course of Divine Providence, these American States became independent with respect to civil government, their ecclesiastical independence was necessarily included; and the different religious denominations of Christians in these States were left at full and equal liberty to model and organize their respective Churches, and forms of worship, and discipline, in such manner as they might judge most convenient for their future prosperity; consistently with the constitution and laws of their country." Yes, this is a sad case, but please do not desensitize the VERY real and serious issue religious persecution on a property dispute of family divorce.Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00261766465382455822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-38415523760486745782007-05-21T21:35:00.000-04:002007-05-21T21:35:00.000-04:00Anon, In regard to tolerance, I am in one of the ...Anon,
In regard to tolerance, I am in one of the most liberal of diocese' in TEC. If you don't agree with their interpretation of scripture you are shunned. The bishop will do all he can to stamp out any one who disagrees with his beliefs there is no inclusivity unless you go along with the liberal views.
Art+Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-70398040984518543002007-05-21T21:28:00.000-04:002007-05-21T21:28:00.000-04:00Anon,If you recall ADV was working with the dioces...Anon,
If you recall ADV was working with the diocese for an equitable settlement when the diocese and 815 backed away from mnegotiations and if you will " fired the first shot. Unless you're a right wing conservative and believe their interpretation of Scripture, you'll never really fit in.

As for the property, how is either position morally any different. You both think the property belongs to you, so you've both gone to court to fight for it. There's legal precidence going both ways and no telling who's going to win. Trying to paint the other side black because they simply want what you do exposes you for what you are. Take a look in your own eye first,Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
