Ya' know, it would have been interesting to hear the last thoughts of our Mr. Truman, because I'm certain that a pyroclastic flow has an effect on one's worldview.
Kinda like Lot's wife--I imagine her saying "I don't FEEL a call to leave. We're supposed to be pillars of our communities, showing the people the right way. We're supposed to be salt and light to them. Lord, make me a pillar! Make me salt! Make me a pillar! Make me salt!"
