I thought that bishops in the Church of Nigeria were appointed rather than elected by the diocese.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-60102994257734872232011-03-03T23:54:04.230-05:002011-03-03T23:54:04.230-05:00I'm certainly an outsider in this choice, but ...I'm certainly an outsider in this choice, but can't resist saying that I've known John Guernsey for a number of years and have worshipped frequently at his church prior to his departure from the Episcopal Diocese. He is a person of the highest personal qualities and would be an excellent bishop in this new organization.

ScoutAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-21318439476364394922011-03-03T23:15:58.797-05:002011-03-03T23:15:58.797-05:00I don't know - I've been at that spot for ...I don't know - I've been at that spot for five years. SF bloggers are great friends - that certainly hasn't changed.

bbAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17490745238430648958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-4046436400162255262011-03-03T19:52:45.249-05:002011-03-03T19:52:45.249-05:00ettu, I think all that happened was that for some ...ettu, I think all that happened was that for some reason, Baby Blue and MCJ switched places. I have no idea why that happened, but its not like bb isn't there anymore (I just arrived here from the SF link).

I have met and had a very detailed discussion with Bishop Guernsey, and can certainly recommend him as both well learned and caring. And given that I met him in one of the tiniest congregations of the Diocese of the Holy Spirit, 1000 miles from his home, I can attest that he really does get out to visit parishes and make the acquaintance of each person under his care. I've never met Archdeacon Dobbs, but it is clear that he is well qualified, and already has a deep commitment to the Church in Virginia. It appears that the nominating committee has done its homework well. All of you out there will be in our prayers as your discernment goes forward.
TJTJ McMahonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09878728399945432911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23327221.post-51816945152126820892011-03-03T18:42:53.026-05:002011-03-03T18:42:53.026-05:00I know this is off topic but I can not help asking...I know this is off topic but I can not help asking what happened with your listing on the "blog" section of SFIF - inquiring minds would like to know and are concerned regards ettuettunoreply@blogger.com
